Start Your Rebate
CIS statements show how much you've been paid and how much tax has been deducted under the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS). They're one of the key documents used to prepare your tax rebate, so it's important to have copies covering the relevant tax year.
Step 1: Check Your Inbox
Most contractors send CIS statements by email.
They're usually issued within 14 days after the end of each tax month (tax months run from the 6th of one month to the 5th of the next).
Before contacting your contractor, remember to check:
- Your inbox
- Spam or junk folders
- Archived emails
- Any email address you've previously used for work
Many subcontractors already have the statements they need without realising it.
Step 2: Contact Your Contractor
If you can't find your CIS statements, contact the contractor or employer who paid you.
Ask them to send copies covering the relevant tax year.
You can request:
- PDF copies by email
- Printed copies by post (if available)
Most contractors are familiar with these requests and should be able to provide replacement statements.
What If I'm Missing Some CIS Statements?
Don't panic.
If you're missing one or more statements, you may still be able to start your rebate.
Our team can advise you on what's needed and help you identify any missing information before your claim is submitted.
